PygmaliART is proud to partner with a company that manufactures its pastels by hand as is the case with Unison Color. This company was founded by artist John Hersey. Not finding a pastel on the market that met all of his criteria, he decided to create his own. According to Hersey, pastels on the market broke easily, did not have a uniform texture, and did not reflect his vision of color. For several years he worked on the production methods, color sequences and texture of his pigment blends. This is how thehe pastel "Unison Color Soft" that you know and love today has been created.
Unison Color is based in the Tarset Valley in Northumberland National Park in England. Each year, nearly one half a million handmade soft pastels are made!
